Hi.....

Hey everyone! It's Bree.Sorry for not posting.I did a post overload on my blog Wednesday, and Thursday(August 18) I started the 7th grade. And it's different from 6th..Like diff subjects, diff teachers, diff time(i used to go to gym 4th hour. Not I go to geography 4th hour and gym last hour.).Here is kind of a little schedule-

1st-Math Teacher #1
2nd-Reading Teacher #2
3rd-Language Teacher #2
4th-Geography Teacher #3
Lunch
5th-Science Teacher #4
6th-Computer Lab Teacher #2
7th-Gym Teacher #1

Then the bell rings(at 3:00),but we only have one bus,so I don't get home until 4:00.I barely have time to post, what with my competition with AR(Don't even ask..but AR is Accelerated Reading that 4th and up do at my school). But,good news is,my language teacher(which is also my Reading and Computer Lab teacher) is making us write! Yay! So I will be sharing some of mine with you. Meanwhile,I may have a hard time posting during the week. Sorry! Anyway, I have no idea what to write. So here is a sneak peak at something I may write! :) Tell me what you think!

I walked on,stumbling over branches and wishing the sun would come out already. I couldn't see,and if someone was following me they could easily follow all the noise I was making.I was wishing I could move silent and stealthily, like my sister did. When she was still the same.
I looked up,realizing I had been so lost in thought that I had stopped. The sky in the east was turning it's pink and orange color,as it does when the sun climbs majestically in the sky.I smiled. Now I could move silently.I surveyed my surroundings, hoping to see something familiar.Nothing.I kept heading in the direction I was originally,or at least I hoped it was.I was beginning to feel like I was walking in circles, when I heard the zip of an arrow being released from a bow.My first thought I was close to a range, that I was behind the targets. Then I realized I was the target.
T

his is just an unedited version taken(if I write it) from the middle of the story. Please do not take anything,it would tear me apart if I knew someone had taken it.Thanks!

A Fun Day

Sorry I didn't get to post a movie review yesterday and sorry Bree didn't post writing on Wednesday and sorry she didn't post today either. I don't  know if she is or not so I will, I guess.

Except I'm not sure what to write about.
That stinks.
Yesterday I didn't post because I spent all day at an amazing amusement park riding all of the roller coasters and upside rides and spinny rides and scary underground rides (okay there's only one of those and it fits in the roller coaster category) and everything else in between. Except 2, because they made me sick last time because I have motion sickness. I can ride spinny upside down roller coasters over and over but I can't sit in a car drive around in circles. It makes perfect sense right? NO!

I guess this is technically my post for the weekend because I haven't written anything new recently, I'm really off my game. And I have to go out and buy school supplies soon which isn't fun. And I might randomly disappear and go off on a sudden vacation because that's what my family does. We don't plan ahead or anything. Sometimes that makes it exciting and everything.

Ok I'm really just rambling on varying topics so I'm gonna go. Hope you enjoyed my randomness. ;P

Book Review: The Fashion Disaster That Changed My Life

This book was very silly. It was just about a girl that on her first day had a pair of panties clinging to the inside of her jeans on the first day of school so she was teased and everything and the popular group invited her and she ditched her 2 friends, even though one of them was a jerk. and she spilled their secrets which isn't good ever. Eventually, she figured out the popular group were just mean so she finally got out of that loop and went back to her one nice friend.

Anyway, one fashion disaster isn't going to ruin anyones life like she says, but it wasn't a horrible book. I honestly wouldn't recommend it though.

be sure to check out www.comeallcomewrite.blogspot.com book club! The first book is Dairy Queen. Go to the book club page at the top of Come All Come Write and you can get more information there. I would love some participants! thanks!

Failure

I am so sorry Bree and I have both failed this week at blogging.
We have both been super busy. We apologize.
And to make it up we are starting something new here at Writing For All!
Every week we are going to try to contact our favorite authors and ask him/her our questions and such. Hopefully they answer and every Monday we will post their answers (Bree and I will switch back and forth) as well as a new contest.

We are having the same contest as last week, so please check out last Monday's post for more info. Thanks so much! Sorry for our mysterious disappearance and everything!

Divergent-Book Review

(also posted on comeallcomewrite.blogspot.com) Simply tied for the best novel I have ever read (the other novel that holds a dear place in my heart would be Delirium-Lauren Olvier), Divergent is a little (big) something to make you cry, laugh, and at times, feel like you're going to faint. This novel by Veronica Roth is extremely daring and amazingly well written. I couldn't put it down the whole time I was reading it.
Although unhappy with the way it ended, there is a second and third book. neither have been released and I fail at patience, so I am practically jumping out of my socks waiting for the second book to come out. I have to read it, like hm... now!!!!
I have an email into Veronica Roth. I really hope she takes the time to answer and I will post it here if she does. (like my 100th post, remember?)
I'm in a major writing mood today. Ok, that was random. Back to the review:
Divergent's run on the NYT's bestelling list was for 11 weeks. Congratulations for Veronica Roth (veronicarothbooks.blogspot.com). And guess what? The second book title is called Insurgent. oh and im reading her latest post rigth now and guess what? shes done with her first copy of it, AHHHH!!!
OK, seriously, why are you still reading this? Go out and read Divergent. NOW!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, that's about it. Read it, It's amazing. I'm dead serious. GO

Monday's Tips-From an Author!

Hey everyone! I am so excited for this post. So the other day I was brainstorming, thinking of things I could do that would make things a little more interesting. What better way to make things interesting than get tips from a published author!-I thought.I also got the idea from Shelby's 100th post.So I was going around, thinking of books I had just recently read, books I thought were amazing.I came across two of my absolute favorite!!!! I found their contact info, and I was so excited to open up my email  Saturday morning and find one of them had replied! Her name is M.E.Breen and she wrote "Darkwood".Here are her tips-

How did you get started writing?

The first piece of creative writing I remember doing was in third grade, when I wrote a poem about a spider getting eaten by a bird. It was pretty dark and dreary as poems go. After that there was a long break until after I graduated from college, when I started working on Darkwood. I've always lived in cities, and I was staying in the country one night and I was walking along a road back to my cabin. There was no moon and I could not believe how dark it was. It seemed like anything was possible in that darkness -- scary things, but magical things, too. I started thinking about what people would be like if they lived with that darkness all the time. Would they be cowardly or brave? Imaginative or close-minded? I'd been looking at pictures of wolves earlier, and I missed my old dog Annie and my two cats, and, well, you can see how the story grew from there. I never knew where it was going from one day to the next. I just followed wherever it led.
Any books you would recommend?

This is great question, because I'm about to teach a class on writing novels for teenagers and kids. We're reading five books for the course, all of which I would recommend for different reasons:
The Hunger Games, for incredible suspense and a marvelously detailed picture of a truly terrifying governmentMarcelo and the Real World, for its minute exploration of a unique heart and mind and for having a pretty curious mystery
What I Saw and How I Lied, for looking at the world of adult problems through the eyes of someone just starting to feel adult, and also for being full of interesting history and being beautifully writtenFrom the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankenweiler, for being perfectly written and funny and really really understanding kids
Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH, for being completely, totally awesome and making me cry every time.
Any tips you would like to give to young writers?

Yes! One is boring because everybody says it, but it bears repeating: Revise, revise, revise! I wrote the first draft of Darkwood in one year and then spent SEVEN more years revising and making it better. You don't have to take that long, but you should always plan on doing a lot of rethinking and rewriting.

The other piece of advice is more fun. Start a writing group. Writing is a lonely task, and it helps immensely to have people you trust and like reading your work and giving you feedback. Critiquing their work will also teach you a lot about your own writing. It looks like you've made an excellent start on this with your friend Shelby and your online followers.

So,what do you think? If this goes over well(with comments!) we may start doing this every Monday(if we can find an author) along with the contest.I'm going to start that back up today!

In under 900 words, write a short story, poem, etc. about any topic whatsoever.

 Okay,I think that's it! Well,have a nice day! Also,I'm back! Yay!

Writing Day-Shelby

Hey ya'll! I wrote a poem the other day about popularity and how they think they can rule everything! please tell me what you think it's unedited.

And everytime she turned around
she saw someone falling down.
Her eyes deep into their soul,
making them look like a fool.
They dropped down to her glory
making sure that they looked sorry.
Even though they did nothing wrong,
she glares at them as if they did.
Her piercing eyes that guys fall for
when really she is just a bore.
So when she says get outta my way.
I will not obey becuase I know she
doesn't rule the world.
And she doesn't rule me.

So what do you think?
Talk to ya Tuesday!

My Writing-Done By Bree

Hey everyone! It's Bree, and I'm just going to post some writing from my novel for NanoWrimo. Here is a little peek-

I looked over the boat, smiling as I watched the sun set.The sky had tones of pink, orange, and turquoise as it set.I looked down, and watched the water. It was a very pretty blue, mixed with some greens. You could see the reefs through the crystal clear water, changing the color from blue and green to the pinks and oranges of reefs. It was beautiful.
We were on vacation in Eilat,Israel to see the 6000 year old reefs. They were located in the Red Sea.
I heard yells and the boat came to a stop.I turned around, trying to see what had happened.I couldn't understand a thing here.I was glad this was out last day. I took a couple of steps, trying not to fall in my 4 inch platforms.I saw land and the dock.
"Come on,Katalina. We are leaving!" I heard my mom call.I hated it when she called me by my full first name. It's not fair. Why did she have to give me such a weird name?
"Mom,you know my name's Kat!" I called, making my way across the slippery deck.I lifted my white maxi, trying to keep it dry.The bangles on my wrist clanked, reminding me to check my watch.I looked at it and almost gasped. It was ten 'till 12 p.m. I had to get to the airport by 12:30.
 "Mom,we have to leave now!"
" Hon,It's only 11:00.We still have an hour to leave."
"No,Mom,it's almost 12:00.We have to leave now if we're going to meet Dad at the airport and sit together."
"Hon,our seats are together! We won't be separated! Not this time."She muttered the last sentence, not intending me to hear.I did, though.
"Well, let's go!"I said, stomping across the dock.I walked up the boardwalk, turned right into the cul-de-sac of small houses, and made my way down the sidewalk.
"Hey,Katalina, the cars back there."I turned around and walked the other way.I was so turned around here. Why did my dad have to be a surgeon. Why why why! If he wasn't we wouldn't be here and we wouldn't have all this money to spend on trips around the world! It was my moms idea to see the reefs,I wanted to stay home.
 "Kat,what is wrong?"
"Mom,we could have spent a vacation in New York like we planned so I could be with my friends and you this summer. But no,we end up in some Israel city half way around the world to see the oldest barrier reef."I said this last part in a disgusted voice. She had to know how mad I was.
" I know. This was your father's idea, you know.He wanted you to see the world when you were little. When you still loved sail-....."
 " Don't even mention that."I said,cutting her off.
"What I'm trying to say is we dedicated half the summer here and half the summer there. That way we're all happy."
 " OK,whatev-oops.I meant sure?"I said,saying the last part like a question.My mom had this strict "no-one-says-whatever-in-this-house-or-they-won't-eat-in-a-month" policy.
"Yeah, you better have meant sure." My mom said, giving me a stern look. Then she laughed."Your sister was always doing that.It was to bad...."She trailed off."Well, never mind.We better get going if we're going to meet your father. We have to be there in 30 minutes.Good thing we packed this morning before we left." I smiled and followed my mom to the car.I got in the passenger seat and sank down.I hated the questioning looks we got from the small kids who had never see a vehicle before.Which was most of them, since the only thing driven here was carts. But my father had insisted on a car,and guess what we ended up with?A car.

So what do you think? Is it good,ok,or You could do better.Comments are appreciated!

Writing Day

Unfortunately, I haven't written anything great recently, but I did this for Leigh!
It had to be 500 words, and had to include the words: mammoth, clutch, and pineapple! Success!

“Come on, Sassy, hurry up!” I yelled, turning around and watching her gallop toward me like she always does. She looks like a horse, but she insists that it’s a mammoth. Little kids, they think the strangest things.

“Coming!” she yelled back.

Out of breath, Sassy whispered, “Where are we going next?”

“You’ll see,” I replied, attempting to stifle a grin. I had the best surprise for her. We were going to a mammoth museum!

As Sassy and I started walking away from the beach house, a woman ran up to us with a huge pineapple. “You like to try one, yes? Oh, so yummy! Try the pineapple!” Sassy and I looked at each other and shrugged. Sassy grabbed the pineapple out of her hands and we sprinted down the red brick road seven whole blocks. I suddenly stopped when I saw the address of the museum. We both turned to face the building. It was an old, dilapidated apartment, which, I’ll admit, made me a little nervous. But I couldn’t keep this chance from Sassy.  She always wanted to see actual mammoths, dead or alive.

I pulled the tickets out of my blue silk clutch and showed her. Her jaw dropped and so did the pineapple, right to the floor. It burst open and chunks of sweet pineapple splattered everywhere. Sassy and I started laughing and ran inside the scary building.

Inside, it was pitch black and we couldn’t see anything. We didn’t hear anything, either. Suddenly from behind us, someone eerily whispered, “You girls got tickets?”

“Ahhhh!” Sassy screamed and I’ll confess, my heart skipped a few beats, too.

I slowly handed the invisible man the tickets and I felt the strange man’s bony fingers wrap around mine, grasp the tickets, and then let go. “Welcome,” the man whispered, flicking a switch. Creepy organ music started playing and he handed us a lantern, with a single flickering glow. “Follow me,” another man said, walking up to us. This one had a long beard that hung down to the floor.

“Gross,” Sassy whispered in to my ear.

“What was that, young lady?” The other man whispered fiercely to Sassy, wrapping his disgusting hand around her throat. I gasped. Please don’t kill Sassy, I though, nervously, holding my breath. Get out of this alive!

“Now come on!” a kind woman growled behind us, “Let ‘em see the museum.” Both men backed away and we hurriedly walked over to the first display.

“Wow!” Sassy said, surprised. In front of us, stood a huge mammoth.

I read the description out loud. “Weighing nine hundred pounds and standing six feet tall, this mammoth, Sassy, was the last mammoth to be killed. But the mammoth has been known to come alive and eat all the people named Sassy that come into this museum. I would watch out if I were you.”

“Wow! The mammoth has my name!” I gulped. Uh-oh.

Suddenly, the mammoth’s head turned. “Hello, Sassy.” It growled, stretching its mouth open wide.

So what do you think?

Movie Review: Titanic

Yay! I love this movie very much!
It is PG-13 because of one scene and there are deaths because of course, the Titanic sinks and many people die and they show them dying but it's not gory or anything.

I love the characters (hello! Leonardo di Caprio and Kate Winslet!) The reason I thought about it is because not only did I see it last week but I saw Revolutionary Road which has the both of them in it again!

Now here are some of my favorite quotes from the movie made in 1997! Although it's not a newer movie, its amazing and a memorable story!
Jack: Where to, Miss?
Rose: To the stars.

Jack: Well, yes, ma'am, I do... I mean, I got everything I need right here with me. I got air in my lungs, a few blank sheets of paper. I mean, I love waking up in the morning not knowing what's gonna happen or, who I'm gonna meet, where I'm gonna wind up. Just the other night I was sleeping under a bridge and now here I am on the grandest ship in the world having champagne with you fine people. I figure life's a gift and I don't intend on wasting it. You don't know what hand you're gonna get dealt next. You learn to take life as it comes at you... to make each day count.
This is #4 on my list of favorite movies! It is one of the best movies in the world. PLEASE watch it and let me know what you think!

Book Review: The Insiders Series

So I'm only on book #2 but i can tell you right now. DO NOT READ IT. it is torturous...
The Insiders Series by J. Minter.
It's awful. The plot, the detail, everything. It is especially inappropriate for anyone under 13...

So yeah. that's my whole post. I'm just telling you don't pick it up in the library, book store, or anywhere else you might find an awful book. perhaps a garage sale? i dont know, but don't pick it up and waste your poor dollar bills on it! just DONT!

ok... movie review thursday! :P

Writing Day: #3!

Hi everyone! Today is my writing day and if you read my introduction from last week, I actually edited and changed it! :) So yeah...

Introduction

It had been nearly three centuries since the last war had occurred in Inguana. Many believed wars would never happen again, and that there would always be peace.

Malaya, a thirteen year old girl, had many ancestors from a historical place called Europe. Her family was of Jewish ancestry and many were killed in the Holocaust.

Inguana’s dictator, Sir Ettin, required all schools to read and research the Holocaust. Many adults believed that a Holocaust was going to happen again. Sir Ettin executed all of those people. Malaya’s father was one of them.

Sir Ettin ruled over two million people. The most popular religion in these days was Christianity, but nearly a quarter of the population was Jewish. These were the only two religions allowed, although Jews were not liked. The Jews had to go to a different school than the Christians. They were only to be taught by Jewish teachers. They were only allowed in “Jews Only” places. They had a separate park, a separate city to live in, separate everything. Nearly 250,000 Jews had to fit in a city all to themselves. Many families had to live together in the same house. Malaya was lucky and only had to live with her mother.

Christians and Jews were not allowed to communicate with each other. If they did, the Jews were executed. The Christians stayed alive.

For the people that did not believe the Holocaust was going to happen again, they would be in for the biggest shock of their lives.
Please tell me what you think of this! Thanks so much for the feedback. dont forget to enter the contest, ends monday! :) Please let us know if you are interested in guest blogging: breeandshelby@gmail.com!
Thanks!

Book Review: Twilight

Hi everyone! i am going to be doing a book review on Twilight, the first book, which I'm sure a lot of you have read.

Yes, it is a hit book and movie, but i can't say I'm a fan! GASP! Who's with me? haha! OK, well, I quit ten pages to the end, because I was just too bored! Why didn't I stick it out? Because it was just that boring for me!

About three things i was absolutley positive:

First, Edward was a vampire.

Second, there was a part of him-
and i didn't know how dominant that part might be-
that thirsted for my blood.

And third; i was unconditionally and irrevocably
in love with him.

What do you think of this book if you've read?
Read it and tell me what you think!
Email us! Also, let me know if there is a book you want me to review!
Email with the subject: Book Review!
Don't forget to enter the contest, read the last post!
I'll be back Thursday with a movie review!
If you have a movie you want me to  review, email us with the subject: Movie Review!
Thanks!
Shelby

Guest Blogger: Stacy!

Hi everyone! Today, we have a guest blogger! Stacy, from www.sweetsgalore.blogspot.com! Check out her blog! She's going to show you a couple of her poems, and you can check out her contests at her blog!
A couple announcements ahead of time: I got my photography page up on: www.comeallcomewrite.blogspot.com. Also, check out Sleigh Photography! thanks!
Ok, here's Stacy...

I write because it helps me see my imagination in words. I write because it helps me deal with reality. I write because I have a strange attraction to words, wanting to look at every nook and cranny. I write because I can’t keep all these thoughts to myself. And I write because, I don’t want to forget.

I show my writing through my blog. I show it through novels. I also show it through short stories, and poems. But most of all, I show it through technology. What would the world be like without technology? Old fashioned, and boring, but it will bring out a chance to improve our letter writing skills. Now here is a random poem or two that I wrote a while ago.

~Friends~
Friends are the stars in your life

The grass in your world
They’re the color in rainbows, and movies
The jewel to your jewelry
And the sun to your planet
Without them…
Life will be dark
Your grass would wither and have weeds all over the yard
Your rainbow would just be monotonous
Your movie is just going to be black and white, and boring
Your jewel will just be coal
And without friends, they won’t give your life the energythat it needs to grow

Venus
Sure, it’s a planet
And a goddess
But to me
She’s my pet dog
Hyper one time
Tired the next
Having creamy honeyyellow fur
Mixed in with whiteand black
With mismatched spotson the front
To me
She’s my Venus.

Thanks for guest blogging, Stacy! Please email Bree and I at breeandshelby@gmail.com if you want to guest blog or enter the contest!
Thanks! A new contest will be announced by Bree tomorrow!

Writing Day: #2!

Hi not so existent readers!
Today is my second writing day and I am going to share with you the Introduction of my Camp Nanowrimo July 2011!
The introduction is the worst part of the novel (in my opinion) but I will be sharing with you next Saturday more of the unfinished and unedited novel!
It's called Peace No More
Ok. here you go!
(remember, this is unedited!!!)

Let me know what you think by clicking a button/commenting! Thanks guys! Talk to you again, Tuesday! Monday's a new contest, please enter into it! also, we aren't sure if we have a guest blogger for tomorrow, but I'll guess you'll have to figure it out by checking back tomorrow!

Dear John: A Review

Hi everyone! i am reviewing the movie, Dear John, based on the book by Nicholas Sparks (one of the best authors: other novels include: the notebook and a walk to remember, also movies!)

You should read the book before you see the movie, but I guess it doesnt really matter. It is sooooo good, I've watched it over 30 times!

Special Forces Army Sergeant John Tyree (Channing Tatum) is home on a two-week leave from Germany. He meets Savannah Curtis (Amanda Seyfried) after he dives into the ocean to retrieve Savannah's purse that had fallen off the pier. John is smitten by Savannah and falls in love at first sight. Savannah is a college student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is on spring break and is helping build a house for Habitat for Humanity. John joins in with Savannah to help build the house. Along the way a budding romance occurs, and Savannah falls deeply in love with John. As she is about to go back to college, she promises to write John overseas during the next 12-months until he returns to her after completing his enlistment. Their love is put to the test when John reenlists after the 9/11 attack.
It is PG-13. There is one scene, but that's because of only one scene. It's the cutest thing every with Channing Tatum (also seen in Step Up and She's the Man, and more!) and Amanda Seyfried (seen in Mamma Mia! and Mean Girls!). And channing tatum is H-O-T! :) Omg!! He's my 2nd celebrity crush after Scotty Mcreery! :) Ok, anyways, please watch it and read the book! Talk to you again Saturday, where I'll be sharing some more of my writing!
<3, Shelby
P.S. Don't forget to enter our weekly contest which ends Monday! Email entry to breeandshelby@gmail.com (In under 400 words, describe the best feature of your face: lips, eyes, nose, etc.) Thanks!

Free Write

Hey everyone! I just realized it was my day to do a little free write.<3. This is something I wrote before, and so I thought I'd share it with you guys! Please comment on what you think,I love criticizing on ways I can make it better and how it's good. So,anyway, please just comment!

I ran through the woods, breathing deep. The world was spinning, and air was hard to breath in, but I could still hear him, feel him, chasing me. The sound of the gun rang through the trees, and the knife he held cut the under-growth. Branches split my face and the vines cut my legs. I was miles away from anyone. I wanted to scream, wanted to do anything but run. I scanned the area, looking for anywhere I could easily hide quickly. If I hid though, he would catch up with me. No, bad idea. Maybe if I turned around, headed back for the highway. How could I do that? He was behind me. If I turned around he would cut me off. I had to stay in the trees. Good thing he wanted me alive. But if he got a clear shot, he would shoot me in the arm, or leg. But I couldn’t think about that. Just keep running.

Up ahead, I could see a clearing.

NO!” I thought. I had to go around it, had to do anything but go through it.

Words kept shooting through my head, but the only one’s I could clearly make out was ”No clear shot. No clear shot. No clear shot.” The words rang through my head, the gunshots rang in my ears. I had to go around it. That was it. I swerved, aiming to the right.

Oof!” I landed with a thud. A sharp pain made it’s way up my leg. I listened. Good. He wasn’t close enough. He was still shooting off the gun, but his footsteps were far away. I sat up and looked at my leg. I had tripped over a vine and landed on a stick with the branches broke off. One of the broken pieces had made a scratch from the ankle to the knee. It had lodged itself in the very end of the cut, deep, too. Too deep to remove with my hands. This was bad. Very bad. I needed a place to hide and fast. I looked around, carefully and slowly. There! A tree had fallen down and it still had the leaves in full bloom. Perfect!

I carefully crawled over to it and hid behind it. I flattened myself to the ground and shoved some leaves around my bright orange T-Shirt. I pressed some leaves along the cut to stop the bleeding some. As soon as I did that, I lay completely still, listening.

Where did he go?”   I wondered. The footsteps were gone and I hadn’t heard the gun in a while. Terror flooded my veins. This was not good.

As I lay perfectly still, I listened. I tried to breath easy, block out the sound of the blood rushing through my ears. It was completely quiet. Too quiet.

CRACK! A stick broke, a few feet away from me. I heard him say a few choice words, shoot the gun off, and slice and x into the tree.

I know you’re here.” He taunted, almost singing it. “Come out! I can see you!” I couldn’t see him, so I didn’t know how true these words were. I chose to ignore him, hoping he’d think he’d lost me and go away. I should have known he wouldn’t go away that easy.

Are you here!” He cried, tearing apart a long dead tree. I peered through a crack between the leaves and watched him. He had his back to me, and after tearing apart the dead tree, he turned to the right and stomped off looking behind every dead tree and branch. I wouldn’t stand a chance if he came this way.

I quietly reached into my pocket and pulled out my cell. “Please don’t be dead!”  I thought as I flipped open the screen. I looked at the battery. Almost dead, but still enough to send a text. I pressed my hand over the sound, and made my way to contacts. I found my mom's name, pressed sent a text ,and started typing-

Mom I nd hlp! Snd Police or smething.I am bing chsed by mad man w/ gun n nife.I m west of HW 73.Please hlp!” I pressed send and got the confirmation message that it had sent.I watched it die just shortly after that.I gently stuck it back into my pocket and lied there, completely still.

After about 30 minutes of him searching the other side I began to think he had forgotten about looking for me and was just taking out some of his anger out on the under-growth. But right when I thought that ,I saw him turn around and come this way. He continued his slashing with the knife, re-searching every hiding place. Then, he slowly made his way to the right side. He slashed open every tree, every vine, leaf, and branch. And then he was in front of my tree.

He started at the top, going very slowly. He knew that if I were there, I would be holding my breath. When he got close to the bottom, I started panicking. What am I going to do? What is he going to do to me?

When he got down close enough where he could immediately see me, he grabbed my arm, not gently either. He yanked me up, bringing the knife to my arm.

This’ll teach you not to do anything stupid.” He growled pulling the knife closer to my arm.

Freeze right where you are. We have you surrounded.” Said an official sounding voice.I  heard a gun cock, and I froze, hoping it wasn’t his. He pulled me around so I was in front of him and stuck the knife under my chin.

NO! He can’t kill me. He can’t! I thought. But then I came to realization. He would. If it meant endangering him, he would do anything to save himself. He had one arm around my upper body, just below the shoulder. Perfect! I smiled, but then quickly changed my facial expression to scared.

You put them guns down or she gets it!” He said, shaking me. I slowly pulled my right hand up, keeping it out of his view. I slowly reached for the knife, keeping my head straight, but my eyes down. I grabbed his hand and flung it away from my body. He let go of the knife and it lodged itself into the tree. I ran, hoping he was still too shocked to move, think, or grab the gun. I ran towards the voice, hoping it was a police officer. But when he stepped out, he wasn’t in uniform or anything. That’s not a cop!  I thought. I turned around and ran, my leg hurting so bad. I couldn’t do this for long, but if I hid he would find me again.

Stop and put your hands above you!” I heard a voice yell. I ran into a cop in uniform.

Hi. Are you Elizabeth Katie Maholly? I’m officer Winton. You're safe now.”

Yes, I’m Elizabeth. Will you have someone look at my leg for me?”
“Sure. We brought an ambulance with us. They followed us with their stretcher. Would you like to get on it?”

Um, yeah, but I’m kinda immobile right now.” I said, sitting down. He picked me up and carried me over to the stretcher. When I was laid down my mom was by my side in an instant.

Honey, are you OK? I got your text. Why didn’t you say more? Oh, never mind! I’m so happy you're alive and safe.”

Mom, I’m scared. Who was that guy?”

“Well, I hate to say this, but he’s your father.”

“WHAT!? I have a father? I mean, I know I have one, but why...”

Shhhh now, hon. It’ll be all right in the morning.” And that is when I fell asleep.

Book Review: My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult

It is really good and was made into a movie!
The movie was excellent as well, although it has a different ending. I would recommend it to anyone 12+ just because of this plot:
My Sister's Keeper is the story of a girl who sues her parents for a right to make her own medical decisions. Anna was conceived after her older sister was diagnosed with leukemia. She is a perfect match for her sister, and spends her life in the hospital donating blood, marrow and whatever else her sister needs to live. As a teenager, she sues so that she will not have to give her sister a kidney. My Sister's Keeper covers the life of this family during the trial. Each chapter is told from a different character's viewpoint. It is one of Picoult's best books.
It doesnt mention this but the sister that has cancer actually doesnt want Anna's kidney, so I thought you should know thats part of the reason of why shes not having her kidney removed for her sister. its an amazing book and I agree with the last sentence. it is most definitely one  of her best novels.

I really recommend this novel! A movie review coming to you Thursday!

The Dagger
A Poem by Shelby L.S.

Guilt.
Tears away at me
with open eyes.

Fear.
Control. Shaking body,
disappointment.

Life.
No longer worht it;
the pain.

Good times.
Rare.
Solitude.

Now.
It's the time.
I can sense it.

Look.
The dagger in my hand,
aimed at my heart.

Listen.
My heart pounding,
the dagger breaking through flesh.

Nothing. Death.

I guess I started off with a pretty gruesome one, didn't I? A happier one next week... perhaps. :)

Thank you for reading and leaving feedback on what you think! I really appreciate your comments and suggestions!
